Pushing on through Devil's Marbles

We are just pushing on north for Darwin as I should be there as soon as possible now. However, we visited Devils Marbles along the highway and spent some time exploring the site and taking photos. We arrived there around 4PM. I wanted to be there for sunset to have the best possible lighting for taking pictures, but even just after 4PM it actually wasn’t too bad. Before leaving the site we had a look into our Oz map and decided to stay in the camp at Devils Marbles as the area around the highway for the next quite a few kilometers is an Aboriginal reservation and we weren’t sure if we could camp there at all.

The camp at Devils Marbles is quite pretty with the backdrop of the actual round rocks all around. There is no showers and in fact no reception either. You are just required to pay a fee of 3.30 in the box provided at the entrance. What you get for it is a nice place to stay with the environmentally friendly dry toilets and fire troughs.
