There is apparently not too much to see in HK except of the thousands of shops which are probably the main attraction to most tourists coming here. Lili, her mother and Gary took me out anyway to try the local subway and to see the Victoria Harbor. There we attended a “Giant Planets” 40-minute movie in the Space Museum. They (again) paid for me and I don’t think the experience was worth the money. The movie is being shown in a large sphere theatre and one would expect some special effects, amazing computer animations and maybe some new surprising information. What you see, however, is basically a TV space science feature with TV level graphics and only a pretty basic info on the giant planets. I could not recommend anybody to pay for this.

After the movie we took a ferry to the other side of the bay and then a minibus to “The Peak”, which – as the name suggest – is a peak of one of the hills where is a shopping centre, viewing “tower” (not really a tower) and tourist prices for souvenirs. It was cloudy the whole day but before we got to the top is started to rain. Thanks to the clouds and rain there was not much visible, which was a shame as it could have been pretty nice view. However, at least the low clouds that were reflecting some of the city lights made the evening view on the city quite interesting and very nice.

All hungry we headed back home to join Lili’s two brothers and father for dinner in another of the local restaurants. Unfortunately, I was very nervous the whole day and my stomach was full of butterflies so I had to excuse myself from the dinner and go home to connect to internet again and maybe start solving my problem, which is really too personal to write about here.

I learned about the fact that there were Lili’s two brothers at the dinner only after the fact so I was even more sorry that I did not go. I must have been not a very good company today… :-(
