• Another major section of the website have been finished. The place general information pages are now fully functional, including all connected popup windows enabling information entry or displaying extended information. For overview of sections of this page go here.
• All website visitors can now add general information about countries and places within them. Users can also create general information articles for countries or other places, or they can edit the existing ones.
• Photo album can now be opened from the main left menu.
• Photo album can also be opened from the menu in place title bar. If opened using this menu it is automatically filtered on that place.
• User profiles contain direct links to lists of their articles, expeditions, and photo album.
• "Hotels for free" feature has been enabled and registered travelers can now receive free nights in hotels and guesthouses all over the world.
• Hotel owners and managers can enter their hotels from the place general information pages and they can register their hotels for premium service including a personalized page on TraveledAround.

29.7.2005

• TraveledAround home page has received additions in the form of 11 Top 5 lists, helping all visitors of the site to identify either the latest or best rated entities* on the site. (*An entity on TraveledAround site may be a traveler, an expedition, an article, a country etc.)
• You can now rate individual photos in photo album.
• Photo album now records number of times the picture was viewed.
• Visitors can now use Options on the Admin tab to opt for new article notifications from their favorite travelers to be sent to their address as soon as new articles are created by these selected travelers. (The actual date such notifications are sent can vary depending on the security group particular travelers assigned you to in case these travelers are using the "Delay article publication" feature. In such cases visitors would receive new article notifications as soon as these articles become available to them.
• Filtering based on country has been extended in such way that the results now not only contain articles or pictures that had been linked by their creators directly to that country, but the results also include items linked to any places listed in the hierarchy of places under that particular country.

• Article feedback was not working for articles that contained any quotation marks in their title.
• Album filter was not working correctly after a criteria change unless the filter was first canceled.
• User browser is being recognized on the beginning of user session and Microsoft Internet Explorer is recommended in case a different browser is being used.
• TraveledAround.com is optimized for and built on Internet Explorer technologies so in case of use of a different browser type the site might not display correctly. However, the site has been updated in this respect and the major incompatibility problems have been fixed. We will continue improving the site for other browsers than Internet Explorer.

8/2004 to 1/2005

29.7.2004

• User password resetting implemented.
• The "Remember password" feature was changed from global to selective "Remember password on this computer" per computer choice at the time of login. Now you can have your own computer to remember your password, logging you on automatically as soon as you open the website while on other computers your password will not be remembered.

29.5.2004

• Full-featured Photo Album has been made available as a major feature addition. The album allows filtered views of lists of photographs and presents additional info like picture name, description, date taken, place, and other more specialized photo information.
• For travelers who have purchased the Photo Album feature all the photographs in their articles will link to their larger format representations in photo album if available.
• Article feedback to travelers has been made available.

• Travelers don't have to select a picture in list first to subsequently select the "Edit" option for each picture for which they want to update information. After opening the first picture in the usual manner you can just click the "Save and Next" button.
• The website now remembers the last place user entered and pre-select it in the place select treeview dialog.
• A date one day later than the last article date is pre-populated on the new article entry form instead of the current date.
• The image select dialog displays the last page the user had previously opened. This for example greatly simplifies and speeds up picture insertions into articles.
• The article notes whose entry have been available to travelers since the first release of the website are now displaying under articles to visitors and visitor groups they apply to.
• Article hit counts are now being tracked and displayed, as well as total user page hits.
• Average user article ratings have been implemented.

Bug fixes

• The next buttons on article pages now don't allow articles that should be hidden from certain visitor group to be displayed regardless.
• Options for sending e-mail notifications for travelers have been enabled.
• Other minor bugs reported by website visitors have been repaired. Thank you all!
